杰里米博士，博士。是遗传部门助理教授。通过NIH / Niddk和UNC胃肠生物学中心的支持（CGIBD），王博士的研究侧重于粘附肠道微生物组在炎症性肠病中的作用。他已经开发并应用了新型的偏心序列测序技术，以表征结肠炎小鼠模型中粘膜相关微生物群落的分类和功能组成。Using a combination of technologies including adaptive nanopore sequencing to deplete host DNA from tissue-associated samples, and full-length rRNA amplicon sequencing, Dr. Wang’s lab has demonstrated dramatically improved taxonomic specificity and greater sampling depth of complex host-associated metagenomic communities than is possible with commonly used approaches. Ongoing areas of research in the Wang lab include mapping temporal and spatial dynamics of colonization of the mucosal barrier by adherent-invasive E. coli; genomic epidemiology of bacterial and viral intestinal pathogens; and exploring the contribution of mucosa-associated microbiome to Crohn’s disease using host-depleted metagenomic sequencing.
