Research Summary

Evan Dellon is an academic gastroenterologist with formal research training in epidemiology, clinical and translational research, and clinical trial design. He leads and collaborates with multidisciplinary research teams in the area of esophageal diseases in general and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in particular. His current research, which has been supported by NIH funding (including KL2, K23, and R01 awards), focuses on optimizing the diagnosis, characterizing the epidemiology, studying the pathogenesis, and refining the treatment and monitoring of EoE, with the overall goal of improving patient care and outcomes in EoE.

Relevance of Research to CGIBD Mission:Dr. Dellon is an internationally recognized expert on eosinophilic esophagus. He has published research on eosinophilic esophagitis that spans the spectrum from the descriptive epidemiology to translational research. .
